STAFF TRAINING
High Ropes Builders offer a range of training opportunities for individuals or Centre Teams. These range from introductory training on our completed construction projects, to ERCA Rescue and PPE Inspection courses.
Training can be delivered either on site, or remotely via our online training platform.
We ensure that our training courses are kept fully up to date with latest industry best practice and regulations.
SITE-SPECIFIC TRAINING
As part of our Design and Construction service, we offer comprehensive staff training on the use of your new facility for your staff team. This ensures correct familiarisation with the new equipment, enabling you to quickly put your new activities to use.
OPERATIONAL INSPECTION AND MAINTENANCE COURSE
This five day course will provide you with an understanding of the skills and techniques required to carry out operational inspections of high and low ropes courses in order to comply with EN15567:2015 part 2—Operational Requirements.
Operational inspections must be carried out by a competent person at least every three months, unless otherwise instructed via the manufacturer. They are essential to ensure a regular, thorough examination of your ropes course, and identify any structural deterioration which may be missed on a visual inspection.
Our course will cover:
-
UK Law and the responsibilities of operators. This will include elements of LOLER regulations.
-
Wire rope inspection techniques
-
Wooden pole inspection techniques
-
Safe rope access techniques and Working at Height
-
Rope course components and tolerances
-
Record keeping – to ensure your facility remains compliant
-
When and how to safely retire equipment

WOODEN POLE INSPECTION COURSE
Wooden Poles are widely used in the high ropes construction industry. However due to their properties as a natural material, combined with exposure to weather and other external factors, they need regular, comprehensive inspection to ensure they are safe to use.
This course gives you the knowledge and skills required to carry out these regular inspections.
It will cover:
-
Wooden Pole specification and species
-
The structure and properties of wood, and how this affects durability
-
Wood preservation
-
Wood degradation and decay
-
Inspection methods
-
Reporting and recording of inspections
-
Treatment and Maintenance of wooden poles
-
Retirement criteria and methods for wooden poles
